This means you can manage the Aadhaar details of your family members or dependents using the same app. However, you will have to enter the password or TOTP of each profile to access it. You can also switch between profiles easily by tapping on the profile name on the dashboard.

How to create and view profile on mAadhaar app




To create and view your profile on the mAadhaar app, follow these steps:


  • Download and install the mAadhaar app from Google Play Store or Apple App Store.



  • Open the app and select your preferred language.



  • Read and accept the terms and conditions.



  • Create a 4-digit password for the app and confirm it.



  • Select one of the options to add your Aadhaar profile: Scan QR code or Enter Aadhaar number.



  • If you choose Scan QR code, scan the QR code on your Aadhaar card using the camera. If you choose Enter Aadhaar number, enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number and captcha code.



  • Verify your mobile number registered with Aadhaar by entering the OTP received on it.



  • Your Aadhaar profile will be created and displayed on the app.



  • To view your profile, tap on My Aadhaar section and enter your password or TOTP.



How to lock and unlock Aadhaar or biometric data on mAadhaar app




To lock and unlock your Aadhaar or biometric data on the mAadhaar app, follow these steps:


  • Open the app and tap on My Aadhaar section.



  • Enter your password or TOTP to access your profile.



  • Tap on Biometric Settings icon at the top right corner.



  • To lock your Aadhaar number, toggle the Enable button next to Aadhaar Locking. To unlock it, toggle it again.



  • To lock your biometric data, toggle the Enable button next to Biometric Locking. To unlock it, toggle it again.



  • You will receive an OTP on your registered mobile number for verification.



  • Enter the OTP and confirm your action.



  • Your Aadhaar or biometric data will be locked or unlocked as per your choice.



How to generate and use TOTP on mAadhaar app




To generate and use TOTP on the mAadhaar app, follow these steps:


  • Open the app and tap on My Aadhaar section.



  • Enter your password or TOTP to access your profile.



  • Tap on Show TOTP icon at the bottom right corner.



  • A 6-digit TOTP will be generated and displayed on the screen. It will be valid for 30 seconds only.



  • You can use this TOTP instead of OTP for any Aadhaar online service that requires authentication.



How to update profile and request status on mAadhaar app




To update profile and request status on the mAadhaar app, follow these steps:


  • Open the app and tap on Services section.



  • Select Update Profile option from the list of services.



  • You will see two options: Update Address Online and Check Update Status.



  • If you want to update your address online, tap on Update Address Online option. You will be redirected to the UIDAI website, where you can enter your Aadhaar number and captcha code. You will receive an OTP on your registered mobile number, which you have to enter to proceed. You can then enter your new address details and upload the supporting documents. You will get an update request number (URN), which you can use to track the status of your request.
