Thor: The Dark World (2013) !FULL!
Still, more often than not, "Thor: The Dark World" is more busy than exciting. There are a couple sub-plots too many, like the one with frequently-naked super-scientist Erik Selvig (Stellan Skarsgard). And too many characters that are introduced with a promising scene, like Rainbow Bridge guardian Heimdall (Idris Elba), are forgotten during the film's climactic battle. The film's world also generally looks slapped together, especially the dark elves, who look like a cross between "Land of the Lost"'s Sleestaks and "Doctor Who"'s Cybermen. Visually, "Thor: The Dark World" is a step back after "Thor," which at least looked unique enough.

Back on Earth, Jane Foster is in London, having been called there by Erik Selvig to investigate readings of unknown nature. After having not heard from Thor for some time, she goes on a date with a man called Richard Madison. Their date is quickly interrupted by Darcy Lewis, who explains that Foster's scientific equipment has been picking up strange signals, signals that have not been detected since the events that took place in New Mexico two years prior. They get in a car where Lewis' own intern, Ian Boothby is waiting for them, and drive to where the signal is the highest and end up at an abandoned storage house. They find that a number of portals have opened, linking the Earth to several different worlds and altering the laws of physics, causing gravity to shift without warning. While Lewis and Boothby continue to play around with the portals, Foster is swallowed up by one of them and transported to an unknown planet. She finds herself in a dark chasm, where a strange vault is located. Upon touching the vault, a red substance, the Aether, emerges from it and infests her body. Passing out, Foster is teleported back to Earth, waking up five hours later. She walks outside where Lewis and Boothby have been waiting. The police had been called there by Lewis and consequently attempt to arrest the three for trespassing on private property; a policeman tries to touch Foster, but the Aether forces him away. Prior to that, Thor suddenly arrives, seeking to investigate Foster's well-being, as Heimdall lost sight of her after she disappeared. While overjoyed to see him, Foster slaps Thor in the face for taking two years to visit her even though he was on Earth during the battle of New York. Thor apologizes to her and she quickly forgives him, but then takes her to Asgard to investigate the nature of the Aether knowing that it was beyond mortal ability to handle.
Zachary Levi is stepping into the DC universe again with March's second \"Shazam!\" film, but the actor has been building a steady career long before he booked his first superhero role. Levi made his television debut in \"Big Shot: Confessions of a Campus Bookie,\" a made-for-TV movie in 2002. After taking on a few smaller roles on sitcoms in the early 2000s (anyone remember the charming \"Less Than Perfect\"?), he landed what would be his breakout role: accidental spy Chuck Bartowski on the NBC spy comedy \"Chuck.\" For five seasons from 2007 to 2012, Levi played Chuck, a tech-store nerd who accidentally had a CIA supercomputer uploaded into his brain. The series made Levi into a geek icon, especially as it became the focus of one of the earliest successful \"save our show\" campaigns.\nDuring his run on \"Chuck,\" Levi got another big break. He voiced Flynn Rider opposite Mandy Moore's Rapunzel in the 2010 Disney animated classic \"Tangled.\" The smash hit earned him a chance to perform on the Oscars broadcast, where he and Moore sang the movie's signature song \"I See the Light.\" As it turned out, Levi's singing voice was Broadway caliber, and he landed two leading roles in subsequent years. \"First Date\" was his Broadway debut in 2013, and in 2016, he starred as Georg Nowack in the revival of \"She Loves Me,\" earning a Tony nomination for best leading actor in a musical.\nAfter \"Chuck\" ended, Levi wasn't out of the nerdy woods yet.
